Issaquah, WA - August 20, 2003 - Uberplay Entertainment announced today that New England, designed by Alan Moon and Aaron Weissblum, has been nominated for the 2003 International Gamers Award for General Strategy Game, multi-player category.

The International Gamers Awards were created to recognize outstanding games and designers, as well as the companies that publish them. Final awards will be announced in September 2003, with the awards presentation taking place at the 2003 Essen Spiele Faire in Essen, Germany.

"Every now and then a game comes along that has a revolutionary new mechanism that is nothing short of brilliant," said Greg Schloesser, President of the International Gamers Awards. "For me, New England is just such a game. The mechanism of choosing the turn order, which also dictates the amount the player must pay for each action he undertakes, is ground-breaking and incredibly clever. It was an overwhelming choice of the committee members as a finalist for the 2003 IGA."
